God Will Not Fail You

We continued our theme of Flashback in chapel last night by remembering God's deeds. Pastor Josh joined us and shared three stories of how God uses ordinary people to accomplish his purposes.

Abraham was an ordinary nobody. He was not especially skilled, but God chose him to bless the entire world. Pastor Josh reminded us that we don't need to be a star athlete, uniquely beautiful, or special in order for God to love us and use us. His first point was.

If God chose Abraham, he will choose you

Next we looked at the life of Moses. Moses had all the benefits of growing up in Pharaoh's house, but he made a huge mistake. In his anger, he killed someone. So, he leaves Egypt and becomes a lone shepherd in Midian. When God comes to him in the the burning bush, Moses probably thought he was finally going to get punished. Instead God launches him into his service.

Pastor Josh reminded us that no matter how terribly we have sinned, we are never beyond forgives. You have never gone too far that God cannot use you for his plans and purposes.

If God used Moses, he will use you

Finally, we looked at the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah, along with the others in Judah at that time we scarred of being attacked. So they signed treaties with other nations to protect them - lacking faith in God.

But God sends Isaiah a vision and calls him to be bold and go to speak to the people of Israel and call them back to himself. Pastor Josh reminded us that even when when we are scared, God can send us on mission - not because we are tough, but because HE IS WITH US!!

If God sent Isaiah, he will send you

Pastor Josh closed by reminding us that all of these men are able to be used for God's glory because God's plan was always to sacrifice Jesus so that sinners could be reconciled to him and used for his purposes. Josh called students to salvation by reminding us that

God sacrificed Jesus so he could forgive you

Several students chose to give their life to Jesus last night! We are thrilled about this and are excited to follow up with them - and with you, so that you can help your son or daughter grow in their new faith.

Late Night!!
Students were having conversations and processing the sermon for quite a while last night. We plan for this and our late night activity was a chill night at the pool.
Morning Worship
It was great to see a few young students on the stage this morning leading acoustic with Kevin. Talia Cole and Hunter Anthony continue to hone their gifts and were a blessing to worship with.

Seniors David Bowler, Dom Verzi, and Morgan Juhnke shared this morning about how we need to have our hearts transformed in order to experience true joy, Christian character, and to maintain our faith in Christ through the most difficult times.

Team Games
Our team game this morning was Water Wars! It is a hot one today, so we figured getting everyone soaked would be a great way to keep them cool while still having a ton of fun!

The teams are doing a great job of encouraging one another, showing team spirit, and competing in a way that honors God.

Next Up!

Mike Hopkins, one of our CVCYouth LifeGroup leaders will be teaching tonight on the dangers of forgetting God. Please continue to pray for safety and that the students of Frontlines 2019 would take one more step in their relationship with Jesus this week.
One of the Skyview media team also had some fun on Photoshop this morning! We promise, there are no sharks in the pond!
