We have spent quite a bit of time talking about the law, our sin and God's punishment. It can get pretty gloomy after a while, but we finally got to something more hopeful! A few weeks ago, Pastor Joe introduced the students to the concept of a Redeemer, which is Jesus! This week, we continued to talk about this concept of a Redeemer in LifeGroup. The students answered the question "What sort of Redeemer is needed to bring us back to God?"
Jesus needed to be both God and man to be the perfect sacrifice on our behalf. This isn't an easy concept to understand, so I'm sure your students have questions. We will continue to dig deeper into each aspect of this in this coming week, so stay tuned!
We have talked about a redeemer for the past three weeks, but it still can be a hard concept to grasp. They understand the examples we use to explain, but may not understand what it means for them. Ask your student what it means that Jesus is our redeemer and start the conversation there!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This Sunday we threw a hopping party to celebrate Christmas with the Impact students. We had pancakes, a hot chocolate bar and decorate-your-own rice crispy treats. Pastor Joe read us the Christmas Story and we ended the night with some crazy Christmas games. A good time was had by all!!
There will be no Impact on the evenings of December 22nd and 29th. We will begin our new series, Sound Doctrine, will begin on January 5th.
Collide is NOT cancelled AT ALL through the Holiday season. If the doors are open on Sunday morning, there is Collide!!
